Enter Netflix. For those of you who have a Netflix account you know the value in having your favorite movies delivered to your doorstep. Included in your Netflix account is a nifty service that allows you to watch thousands of movies over your high speed internet connection. After doing some research I stumbled upon the Roku Digital Video player. This device allows you to connect to your home router and stream Netflix directly to your computer.
The Roku Digital Video player arrived at my doorstep within a few days. I had purchased it for around $100 and it includes connection cables and a remote. The Roku Digital Video player also includes built in wire less connectivity.
Out of the box the Roku Digital Video player is fairly small. The Roku Digital Video player fits nicely on your TV stand or in an entertainment cabinet.
Connecting the Roku Digital Video player to the television was quite simple through its S-Video cable or the provided RCA cables. The Roku Digital Video player began searching for a wireless internet signal almost immediately. The Roku Digital Video player found my home router and within minutes I was connected.
I truly did not know what to expect with streaming video. I half expected jerky video, slow streaming, and less than clear pictures. The Roku Digital Video player provided me with none of these problems. The video is extremely stable as long as your high speed connection is stable. I have a 1.5 mbps connection and have found our connection to be more than ample for the Roku Digital Video player. It takes less than a minute for your streaming movie to begin and the Roku Digital Video player provides a beautifully clear picture.
Since purchasing my Roku Digital Video player nearly 2 months ago I have been more than pleased with my purchase. The best part of purchasing the Roku Digital Video player is that since making my purchase I have saved approximately $40 dollars by taking full advantage of my Netflix account. At this rate it will take me approximately 3 months to pay for my Roku Digital Video player. I could not be more pleased.
