Today, the rich and powerful better watch themselves as now the omnipresent and bolder media plays the watch dog of new age and more enlightened socio-political arena, which encompasses not only a society or a nation, but the entire world.
In this 21st century sci-fi age, the facets of media has increased manifold. It now comprises print, audio, audio-visual and detective media. Detective media? Yes!! Like Lord Shiva-media too now has a third eye, which opens to unravel the shrewdest of shrewds, engaged in devious activities, and burns their dirty hands, thus helping in the eradication of evil from the society, further giving out warning signals to like minded lurking Satans of this earth to resort back to fair means of living.
Apart from keeping us up to date to the latest happenings and playing detectives, media also remind us of our duties and bring to us our real heroes at hostile war fronts at the cost of putting their own lives at risk.
But just as there are two sides of a coin, the media too has some negative effects. Firstly, though it aims at bringing true news to the people, but in doing so, it sometimes ruins the personal life of an individual. Though it aims at making the politics and other affairs of our country fair and transparent, but it should be responsible enough to ensure that innocent people are not harassed .
Further , as the number of newspapers and television news channels is increasing, the media people, in order to attract viewers, often make a big issue out of a small one, and hence try to make it more delectable.
Thus ,in my opinion, the media should take care of its not so positive effects and try to enhance the quality of news that it brings to the people. Further, it should keep up the good work and strive to deliver unbiased and meaningful information.
