Separation of Hindustan
I would like you to take back in the year 1945-47, when British were engaged in world war-II and they needed large amount of money, slowly they found that Hindustan or India was slipping away from them.
The British from the inception had divide and rule policy in India. India was always being secular state gave British a last chance to rule, tried to put fraction in the Indian society. Muslim league leader Jinnah who's political ambitions and religious fanatics in one side and other side power greedy congress politicians who were ready to split the country than to share power made the British separate India in to two parts India and Pakistan. The emergence of Pakistan based on Ideology of Muslim state and Islam as the state religion. Pakistan now had two parts West Pakistan (which is the present Pakistan) and East Pakistan (present Bangladesh)
Biggest blunder-Breeding Ground for Terrorism
The biggest blunder committed in history is the separation of India and Pakistan and Pakistan has become the biggest breeding ground for Islamic terrorist or Jhehadi's. In the name of Islam they started terrorism, which spread world wide.
Independence of Bangladesh
After the separation of India and Pakistan, the Pakistan (West and East) always remained disrupted. East Pakistan predominately Bengali's who's roots were more in India than in Pakistan, except their religion, there was no commonality . As the time passed the West Pakistan's atrocities increased which resulted in revolt and large number of refugee's influxed in India. Indian government under the leadership of Mrs. Gandhi supported Bangladesh and the war of 1971 was fought. After the defect of war 90,000 POW were held by India. After the surrerender as a good will gesture, India let go 90,000 POW. And Bangladesh got Independence. But in the minds of Pakistan the war scared remained.
The Cold War
The world headed for a new ideological battle between the USA lead western nations and the USSR lead Communist countries, India remained netural under NAM. America in order to fight Russian stared funding the Pakistani fundamentalists by providing monetary and logistics support to ISI, the Pakistani military etc to groom up Islamic terrorists who can fight the atheist communist Russians in Afghanistan. In other words, Americans were the first to fund terrorism!
Osama
In order to topple Russian in Afghanistan America (CIA) helped trained and gave all support that required to Osama bin Laden . Who created Mujaheeden's young band of Islamic group with the help of ISI fought bravely with Russian. After the defect of Russian in Afghanistan created Islamic jehadis called Al Qaeda.
New Warfare
Pakistan now knew very well that in traditional war fare it can't defect India ,slowly stared sending Terrorist . They were creating disruption and a proxy war was trusted on Indian. On several fronts India tried to protest against Pakistan and every time America gave a blind eye and deaf ear .
Kashmir
After the 1971 war it then Pakistani military dictator Gen Ziaul-haq came out with a plan called 'Operation Topac'. The idea was to infiltrate terrorist elements into India who were brainwashed in the name of Islam and Jehad and cause economic and social disruption and large scale terrorist strikes in India and also to do an ethnic cleansing of Hindu Pandits in Kashmir. Pakistan started misusing the American and Saudi funds to raise a proxy war against India, in the form of terrorist attacks.
Terrorist elements who had been brain washed in the thousands of madrasas of Pakistan went out of control. Now neither the Pakistani administration, nor the CIA were able to control it. ISI and the Pakistan military continued to train the militants and continued to arm them and fund them and send into India.
Lashkar-e-Taiba
Lashkar-e-Taiba well know as LeT is formed guerilla training camp near Kunnad, Afghanistan and in 1987 created its sprawling base camp on 80 hectares in Muridke near Lahore, Pakistan to establish a base for operations against the Soviet-installed government of Afghanistan.
Ideology of LeT
Why so many attacks on India ,one have to understand the ideology of LeT. Its main ideology is challenging India's sovereignty over the State of Jammu and Kashmir. Its second ideology is restoration of Islam in its neighboring countries like India, Russia and China. Islamist fundamentalism preached by its mentor, the JuD. It seeks to bring about a union of all Muslim majority regions in countries that surround Pakistan. In its history the organization has shown scant respect for human life and has carried out terrorist activities of great brutality. Many of its objectives are inspired by the Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) of Pakistan.
Aim of LeT
LeT's main aim is to destabilize India, establish Islamic state through creating jihad.
Funding
LeT raises funds by placing charity boxes outside the Mosques, but their major of fund raising comes from misleading Pakistani- Muslim youths from Great Britain, Germany, and Canada etc, these funds are then used against war in India. The outfit also collects donations from the Pakistani immigrant community in the Persian Gulf and United Kingdom, Islamic Non-Governmental Organisations, and Pakistani and Kashmiri businessmen. They do to hide their terrorist activities under the guise of charity.
Activates
The Lashkar-e-Taiba group has repeatedly claimed through its journals and websites that its main aim is to destroy the Indian republic and to annihilate Hinduism and Judaism. LeT has declared Hindus and Jews to be the "enemies of Islam", as well as India and Israel to be the "enemies of Pakistan".
They also prove terrorist training camps with the help of ISI to wage war against India.
The outfit had also cultivated links with the former Taliban regime in Afghanistan and also with Osama bin Laden and his Al Qaeda network. Even while refraining from openly displaying these links, the LeT office in Muridke was reportedly used as a transit camp for third country recruits heading for Afghanistan.
The LeT maintains ties to various religious/military groups around the world, ranging from the Philippines to the Middle East and Chechnya primarily through the MDI fraternal network.
ISI(Inter-Services Intelligence)
After Pakistan got Independence they created two Intelligence agencies called the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Military Intelligence (MI). However, the weak performance of the MI in sharing intelligence between the Army, Navy and Air Force during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1947 led to the creation of the Directorate for Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) in 1948. The ISI was structured to be manned by officers from the three main military services, and to specialize in the collection, analysis and assessment of external intelligence, either military or non-military. The ISI was the brainchild of Australian-born British Army officer, Major General R. Cawthome, then Deputy Chief of Staff in the Pakistan Army.
Ayub Khan
Under the rule of Ayub Khan ISI grew from internal Intelligence gathering The ISI was reorganised in 1966 after intelligence failures in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965, and expanded in 1969.
During the regime of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto the Father-in-law of present president , who was very critical of its role during the 1970 general elections, which triggered off the events leading to the partition of Pakistan and emergence of Bangladesh.
Under Gen. Zia ul-Haq regime July 1977 ISI gained movement.
Soviet Afghan War
The Soviet-Afghan war of the 1980s saw the enhancement of the covert action capabilities of the ISI by the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). A special Afghan Section was created under the command of colonel Mohammed Yousaf to oversee the coordination of the war. A number of officers from the ISI's Covert Action Division received training in the US and many covert action experts of the CIA were attached to the ISI to guide it in its operations against the Soviet troops by using the Afghan Mujahideen, specifically the fighters loyal to Gulbuddin Hekmatyar. The United States of America provided technical assistance and financial support to Afghan Mujahideen through ISI..
"Reports also indicate that the LeT receives considerable financial, material and other forms of assistance from the Pakistan government, routed primarily through the ISI. Pakistan's security agencies are reported to be providing training to the outfit."
"The LeT was also reported to have been directed by the ISI to widen its network in the Jammu region where a considerable section of the populace comprised Punjabis. The LeT that has a large number of activists who hail from Pakistani Punjab can thus effectively penetrate into Jammu society."
Even now when India bleeds in terror secretary of state Ms Rice asks Indian government to restrain from taking any tough steps.
One interesting Pakistan TV broadcast showed on 1st December 2008 and quote" 9/11 is staged by American themselves to fool the whole world. There was no truth in WTC attacks by Al Qaeda"
Is it not ironical, the partner of America's War against terror Pakistan broadcasting such mindless, baseless propaganda?
Pakistan president is true businessman knows how to play his cards to his advantage, has threatened America and other western nations that it will withdraw its forces from Western bordering Afghanistan, if India takes any tough stance.
And Ms Rice asks Indian government to restrain taking any tough steps, and reassured that Pakistan will co-operate with India. Is it not comical and ironical and double standards towards India?
In the wee hours of Mumbai terror attacks exchange verbatim the immediately solution, retrospectively the world leaders has to come together to fight against war on terror. To stop terrorism in Pakistan, declare it as rough country. Stop funding that will choke the birth of terrorism.
When you have tumor following medical procedures are taken 1) Identify the area of tumor 2) Medicate 3) finally do surgery. Similarly now time has come the total eradication of terror from the root itself.
There is one more suggestion create secular state ,free from ISI, LeT and create a country which will fast develop as a developed economy and move hand to hand with other developed nations.

Good article. Thanks for the insight into that part of the world. I never quite understood it. Thanks
While the content was excellent, one has to gulp down the numerous spelling mistakes with a pinch of salt & a glass of water.
Interesting study

Jayanti, this is a most cogent, and in-depth analysis. Many would do well by themselves to read your article here, and try to digest a bit of history. We did not get "here" in one generation alone. We must understand what went before to understand what is now at hand. Thank you for posting this, my friend.
