The Rose Tattoo
A tattoo of a rose you had
surrounded by our names
permanantly imbedded
as if it brought you fame
The names of all your children
You wore proudly on your arm
For more than 50 years it stayed
Just like a lucky charm
3 daughters and 4 sons you had
Which is quite a sum for most
and even when things weren't so great
you still would always boast.
The years we had weren't always good
some sad, some even bad
but one thing never changed for sure
that's the love for us you had.
We didn't always feel it
sometimes it didn't show
but that rose with all our names around it
never ceased to glow.
Now you've gone and taken with
the rose with all our names
all that's left are memories
and a pictures of the same.
Darlene was there to meet you
and 6 of us remain
one by one we'll meet again
and our names again you'll claim
Love, Donna

Post a CommentI'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my mom just two weeks after you lost your dad so I can relate to how you feel. The tattoo was such a sweet thing.
