The Ruby Scat Looks Like a Saltwater Fish

Shannon Frye
Most people do not know what brackish means. Brackish means that the fish cannot be placed into a freshwater tank and it cannot be placed into a saltwater tank. A brackish fish must be in a fish tank that contains a little bit of salt in the water. It doesn't require as much salt as your average saltwater fish but you will still need to place some salt into the water to keep the fish alive. You cannot expect this fish to live in a freshwater or saltwater fish tank. One type of fish that is brackish is known as the Ruby Scat.

The Ruby Scat is not a good choice for somebody who has a small fish tank. This fish needs to be placed into an aquarium which is at least 90 gallons. You might be able to purchase this fish when it is small but it will not stay this small forever. You will need to be able to purchase a very large tank to keep this fish as an adult. This fish is easy to care for as long as you have a big enough tank for the fish to move around and roam in search of food. This fish is a good choice for a brackish tank because it's a peaceful fish that will get along with your other fish and not attack them.

The Ruby Scat is not aggressive or territorial which is very nice. If you have a large tank and you're sick of saltwater fish tanks and freshwater fish tanks you could always try something new. You will need to add a little bit of salt to the water but not as much as a saltwater fish tank. If you have a large fish tank and you want to purchase a fish with good coloration you will need to think about purchasing the Ruby Scat. This fish is one of the few fish that you can purchase which is large yet not aggressive or territorial.

If you want to purchase this fish I would recommend going to your local Petsmart. They usually have a very good supply of fish that get to be very large. This fish will be small when you get it and it will cost you around $15 when this fish is little. If the fish is a good size fish over a couple of inches in length you can expect to pay more money for this fish when you get it. If you cannot find the Ruby Scat at the pet store you can purchase the fish online as well.
