Now I can understand not wanting to use the poison that is chemo being a cancer patient myself. But it is a necessary evil in so many cases I think. The boy had one treatment and it was showing to work. Now what I do not truly understand is that if it was against their religious beliefs why did they allow the one treatment before going to alternative treatments? I do not under stand that at all.
When it was found out that the Hauser's were using an herbal therapy a judge in New Ulm ordered an X-ray to see how the cancer was doing. As it turned out the cancer was spreading again. Proof that the herbal treatments were not working. But the Mother and Son were not in court as they should have been. They ran away, assuming the court would order the chemo. And if you ask me the court should. If you ask me Colleen Hauser is knowingly killing her son. She is not giving him a fighting chance. Doctors are fairly sure that if Daniel got the chemo he would recover.
The Father says he had no idea about it, and he has no idea where they are. I am not so sure about that. I don't know any Moms who would leave like that with the Son and not tell Dad where they are going. But than again I don't know many Mom's who would knowingly deny their child treatment that could save their life.
Its confirmed they flew via Sun Country and went to L.A, and its assumed they will go on to Mexico to seek treatments there. There is a federal warrant out for Colleen, and I hope they catch up with her. I really do. It makes me angry that she would not only deny her son treatment, but make him a fugitive like her when he is so sick. Shame on her for being this kind of Mother. I really hope that the authorities catch up with her.
I am all for freedom of religion and the freedom of choice, but this cross a line. When a child's health is involved, when it's a child who has to be subject to this it gets my gaul going. Parents are supposed to make the right choices for their kids. How is letting him die when he could likely be cured the best way to go? Colleen Hauser goes right up there with the lady in WI who prayed for her daughter to get better rather than take her to the Doctor. And I hope they both get what's coming.
