The New Safari Collection from Banana Republic

The sun is coming out and all the new collections are tagging along. Banana Republic has recently released their new Safari Collection that is supposed to embody African prints and designs brought to the city.

The Silk Giraffe-Print Dress has a crossover neckline that creates a keyhole at the bust. The silk dress hangs from the body very freely and stops right at the knee. The giraffe print is brown and white, but Banana Republic describes the brown as "carob chip". This dress looks great with a few bangles and some brown sandals.

The Safari Wrap Shirt is a cute, collared, "carob chip" shirt with three quarter length sleeves that cuff at the hem. The shirt has two small pockets on either side of the chest that have little silver button detailing. The shirt wraps around and has brown ties that form a large bow at the hip.

The Safari Shirt Dress truly embodies the Safari collection. The dress has a collar, two pockets on the chest, two pockets on the upper thighs, short sleeves with cuffs and buttons down the center. The dress has a cute waist belt to cinch the dress in. The dress stops a few inches about the knee and has a cuff at the bottom. It is a khaki color that Banana Republic calls "casual beige".

The Silk Giraffe-Print Halter has halter straps connected to the shirt by silver hoops. The shirt is the same "carob chip" color as other pieces in the collection. The shirt also flares somewhat at the bottom, giving it a slight baby doll effect.

The Silk Asymmetrical Dress is a pretty gem purple color that Banana Republic calls "Purple Star". The dress comes over one shoulder, which creates a draping effect and has a waist belt that cinches the dress in at the hip. The dress stops a few inches under the knee and would look great with some strappy sandals.

The Halter Buckle Top is a simple sleeveless halter-top that has a bamboo-like ring detail at the neckline. From the ring hangs fabric on either side that come down and around the waist. It comes in carob chip, splash, orange blaze, and fantasia green.

The Silk Halter Dress is a pretty sleeveless halter dress with a large flower design. The dress is a burgundy color and the design is pink, orange, brown, and white. The dress ruches just under the bust giving a baby doll effect.
