By now almost everyone has heard of nail polishes' "The Big 3." These three common ingredients are some of the most toxic found in nail polish, reports The Campaign for Safe Cosmetics. They are formaldehyde, DBP, toluene. There has been much news about them and thusly many companies have removed them from their polishes. However, finding nail polishes that don't have them can still be tricky, especially as nail polish brands don't always list their ingredients on the bottles (at least at a visible size). This list comprises of several top nail polish brands that are known to not contain the "The Big 3."

Please note that this list is only referring to modern formulations of these brands. Old formulations, especially ones no longer carried, may contain any or all of these chemicals. You should still check the ingredients label on all nail polish to ensure it does not contain any ingredients you don't want, especially if you have an allergy.

Nars
All of the current Nars nail polish is formaldehyde, DBP, and toluene free. Its nail polishes come in quite a few colors and are usually provocatively named. Nars is a popular make-up brand that sells more than just nail polish; for example, its most popular color, Orgasm, comes in lip gloss, blush, and nail color. Nars is a reliable cosmetics company with a large following of fans.

Chanel
Chanel is a large and popular cosmetics brand. It's adored by many and is well known for its stylish and trend setting colors and quality. All of its nail polishes, known as Le Vernis, are formaldehyde, DBP, and toluene free. It also often has matching lip color for its nail color. It is probably the most expensive nail polish listed here, but most of its fans believe it is quite worth the price
