The Samsung Gravity Mobile Phone - a Product Review

Lovemyviews
When it comes to mobile phones, I'm a picky peter. The first thing I ever notice about it is the style. And really that shouldn't matter all that much but to me, it does. I like a phone that is sleek, cool and has a laid back look. Call me silly but that is the type of consumer I've become.

The Samsung Gravity is one of my newest phones. It's offered under T-Mobile so I was lucky enough to get a hold of it due to me being a T-mobile customer. I got lucky when it came to the price because of my ability to upgrade because believe me I wouldn't have paid the amount they were asking for. Is the Samsung Gravity a good phone? Honestly, it has it's pros and it's cons but for the most part it's a decent phone and it's good enough for me.

The positive features pertaining to the Samsung Gravity Mobile phone

I could go on for days about the positive aspects of the Samsung Gravity but who has all day to read through them. I don't even have all day to write them all out so I'm just going to list a few and move on.

One of the things I like about the Samsung Gravity is the way it looks. I'm not really intrigued by the color choice but I really do like how it's made as a whole. It's a qwerty phone, which means that it acts as a keyboard by choice. I personally have always wanted a qwerty phone because I though they were kind of cute. The Samsung Gravity is definitely a "cute" phone.

When the keyboard is being utilized it's just an all around neat gadget, when it's closed I find it a bit boring. It looks more like an old school mobile phone when its closed. It offers the keypad, call button and end call button on the front panel. But like I said, the slide out qwerty keyboard makes up for the jade design.

Outside of the qwerty keyboard, I adore some of the features that it offers. Like the 2.0 mega pixel camera. I haven't been a true fan of mobile phones with cameras and honestly I'm still not but I actually like this one. Even though it's only 2.0 mega pixels, the photos that I take are clear and extremely sharp.

The Samsung Gravity offers web capability it is what I definitely need considering the field that I'm in. Not only does it offer web capability, it offers 3G speed. That's as good as I'm going to get it when it comes to internet browsing on my mobile phone.

The negative features pertaining to the Samsung Gravity Mobile Phone

You better believe that I have something negative to say about the Samsung gravity Mobile Phone. I don't have a huge list of things but I have a couple that makes a big difference to me. Feature wise, the Samsung Gravity is lacking. It doesn't offer a lot like most mobile phones and I feel a bit left behind when it comes to having this phone.

It's pretty much an average mobile phone with no GPS action, great selection of ring tones and bland when it comes to functionality.

I really dislike the keys that come on the Samsung Gravity. They are softer than normal keys but that really isn't the issue. The issue is the fact that they are really close together, which makes it hard for me to press keys correctly. I push keys that I don't mean to press which makes texting a lot more frustrating.

Another thing I disliked about the Samsung Gravity was the fact that the font on the screen was so small that I had a difficult time seeing whatever was on my screen. I wasn't able to change font size which was something I was expecting and I basically ended up settling for the small text.

My concluding opinion?

For $300 the Samsung Gravity isn't close to being worth the price. It's a decent phone don't get me wrong but if I had the option to buy a different one, I would. Compared to the Motorola Cliq Titanium, the Samsung Gravity is falling a little short in the "feature" section. The only way I would recommend anyone buy this phone is if they happen to have good credit and can get it for the $30 price. Other than that don't spend the last of your paycheck for it because it's far from being worth it.
