In terms of inclusion of networking features, such as, Facebook, corporate email connections, and more, the general assumption may be that a high end and expensive smartphone will be required. Luckily this isn't the case. There is an increasing number of lower end phones that feature most, if not all of the bells and whistles of the popular giants such as the iPhone, Blackberry, and Android based devices. Nothing could be further than the truth. In terms of core features, what typically separates a low-end phone from a high-end phone is the device's OS (operating system) functionality, the CPU, the craftsmanship, and lastly additional hardware features (Bluetooth, GPS, and 3G/4G). With these categories in mind, chooses a phone that fulfills the requirement at hand isn't such a chore.
The Samsung Seek is a low priced phone that offers ample functionality in each of the categories. First and foremost, what separates the Seek apart from most of the big players is the OS. While some operating systems are upgradable and allow for application installation, others for the most part very static and offer the same included software for the life of the phone. This isn't always a bad thing, especially for those who don't require a variety of applications that allow for such things as guitar tuning, or nurturing a virtual pet. With the Samsung Seek, important online applications and features such as web browsing, Facebook, instant messaging with AIM, Yahoo!, and corporate email support for Exchange and Lotus Notes are built right into the phone. For those looking to expand upon the Seek's abilities, its proprietary OS supports Java (J2ME).
Speaking physically, the Seek features modern conveniences including a QWERTY slide-out keyboard, and a fully enabled QVGA touch screen. The built in 1.3 mega-pixel camera isn't exactly the latest in mobile camera technology, yet consumer ratings place the captured images of 1280 x 1024 with acceptable quality for cheap and convenient on the go picture taking. A built in MicroSD slot that handles up to an additional 32 GB of memory allows for those photos or for a wealth of music files to be stored. Adding to the outstanding list of features, the Seek also includes Bluetooth and GPS functionality.
All-in-all, for a quality and top rated CDMA 850 / 1900 phone, the Samsung Seek has quite a bit to offer.

Post a CommentI've owned my seek for about a year, and I love the built in qualities of this phone. You're right when you say that the seek mounts up to the statute of a high end smartphone. You do a lot with this phone for it's price.
