The San Diego Zoo is located at 2920 Zoo Drive, San Diego, CA 92101. There are several exhibits currently being offered by the zoo. There is a gecko exhibit, which is sponsored by both the zoo and GEICO, which allows park visitors to learn a little more about these small reptiles. The exhibit even features some Madagascar day geckos, so this could be a great exhibit to bring kids to so that they can learn more about these cute creatures. There is also an exhibit called Monkey Trails and Forest Tales, which includes over 30 species of exotic animals, many of which are endangered, like the golden-bellied mangabeys and mandrills.
The San Diego Zoo's ticket prices for one day are $34 for an adult and $24 for a child. There are also Wild Animal Park Tickets that run at the same rate. If you want get tickets in advance, they can be purchased online at the San Diego Zoo Ticketing Page. If you want to spend a few days discovering new species of animals and wandering amongst the majestic beauty available, there are Two-Park Tickets available. These tickets allow the visitor to have unlimited admission to both the San Diego Zoo and the Wild Animal Park for up to 5 consecutive days. An adult Two-Park Ticket is $60 and a child's Two-Park Ticket is $43. For the tourist who wants an action-packed vacation, the Go San Diego Card may be the perfect purchase for you! For just $54 the cardholder gets free admission to over 35 attractions, which includes the San Diego Zoo along with whale watching tours and museums.
The Special tours and VIP tours at the San Diego Zoo can be a great opportunity to learn about your favorite animals in a one-on-one setting with an expert. The Special tour program is geared more toward large groups of over 15 people, but if you happen to be travelling with a big group of people, the tour is only $15 per person for an hour and a half. For two hours, the tour is only $20 per person. VIP tours have a flat rate of $350 for two and a half hours. There is no minimum amount of people for the VIP tour but there is a maximum of fifteen people. For all of the tours, children under the age of 3 get to come along for free.
The San Diego Zoo is a great place to visit in California. There are many exhibits and types of animals to visit so don't let ticket prices discourage you. The experience is well worth the cost and will surely help you to create memories that will last a lifetime.
