The Sanctity of Marriage Outside of Religion

It is interesting that such a simple idea as "marriage" can turn out to be such an explosive topic. In the Western world at least everyone believed that they knew what exactly marriage is; which had been defined as a holy wedlock that joins man and woman together by the Almighty Creator. This sacred idea of marriage belongs to a broad Christian view. According to this definition of marriage, the idea of a marriage between man and man or woman and woman makes no sense at all. However, why should it be prohibited? It is impossible to maintain the idea of marriage in this sacred sense so why bother to worry whether or not others wish to use the term "marriage" in a wider context been no longer sacred and now is the term used to define the relationship of two human beings and no longer specify the gender of these two individuals

Without a doubt and sacred settings prohibition on same-sex marriages will still be in effect, and there is nothing wrong with us as long as all participants are voluntarily submitting to this decision. These people simply not refer to loving same-sex relationships using the term marriage, but only to refer to the lasting relationship between a man and a woman. This is a free choice for those individuals, however, they should not seek the prevention of other people using this vocabulary, even if it is not used in a sacred sense.

The First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States guarantees the right for each law abiding citizen to be free to live and worship as they choose them as they see fit. If an individual is not harming anyone else by the way they choose to speak or by their thoughts then that no one has the right to reprimand them for their actions. I do have the right to personally disapprove of another lifestyle however I do not have the right prohibit it I may find someone uninteresting bordering immoral what have you however that is still very choice and not mine.

The whole debate about same-sex marriage stems from the confusion about whether or not it is sacred. Marriage, in today's world, is more than just a sacred bond; it is the recognition of a civil responsibility that is given to the married couple. Why is it that human beings choose to be married? What are the privileges and rights that married couples are afforded unmarried couples are not afforded? What is it that same-sex partners once that is afforded to heterosexual couples, but not to themselves? Are there any good reasons for making a distinction between these two types of couples? Are there any reasons for us to prohibit sex couples from entering into the legal bonds of marriage as husbands and wives? There are no religious sanctions that prohibit marriage between same-sex partners. A sealing marriage with a sacred wedlock is optional and a choice of personal thing. We should not be the subjects or vehicles of public policy.
