SanDisk Corporation, has recently unveiled their new Sansa View video MP3 player. The Sansa View is a follow up of the company's Sansa e200 music player. The Sansa View was originally a portable media player with a 4 inch screen, built-in speaker and an expansion slot but SanDisk later discontinued the product. Now, SanDisk has revived the Sansa View but it is no longer a portable media player but more of a competitor of Apple's iPod Nano.

The New Sandisk Sansa View sports a sleek-looking thin design and combines the music playing capabilities of its predecssor, the Sansa e200, with full motion video support. The Sandisk Sansa View's specifications include: 2.4 inch TFT screen with 320 x 240 resolution, MicroSD/SDHC expansion slot, voice recorder with built-in microphone, and built-in FM player with 20 pre-sets.

The Sandisk Sansa will come in two models, the 16 GB Sansa View and the 8 GB Sansa View. Unlike other MP3 video players that only gives you standard memory capacity, Sandisk allows users to expand the memory capacity of their Sansa View using an expandable MicroSD/SDHC slot so you can more music and videos.

The Sandisk Sansa View can playback protected and unprotected MP3, WMA, and WAV audio file formats. The 8 GB Sansa View can hold up to 2,000 MP3 songs or 12 2-hour videos while the 16 GB Sansa View can store up to 4,000 MP3 songs or 24 2-hour videos. An 8 GB MicroSD card (the largest capacity for MicroSD cards to date) will add up to 2,000 more. The Sansa View can playback videos at 30 frames per second and supported video formats include MPEG4, WMV, and H.264 while the Sandisk Media Converter can support a variety of formats, including DIVX.

Aside from music and videos, you can also enjoy viewing your favorite JPEG photos with 16 mega pixel resolution on the Sansa View. The Sansa View also supports Audible audio books so you can listen to your favorite books while traveling. The Sansa View supports a variety of Music download subscription services including Rhapsody To Go, Emusic, and Napster. The Sansa View has a lithium polymer battery that can last up to 35 hours audio playback and 7 hours of video playback.
