The Santee Library Book Club Spawns a Literary Movie Club in Santee California

Who likes movies? Who likes books? If you like both movies and books, then, a movie club based on books is perfect for you. The Santee Book Club is also a movie club. The book club was started about four years ago and the informal movie club was started a year ago in August by me. The idea stemmed from the fact that the Santee Library book club doesn't meet in August. Therefore, I decided to invite some of the book club members to watch "Julie and Julia." which was based on a book by Julia Child and a book by Julie Powell. I thought that it would be a one-time event. However, everyone had a good time; so, this movie club continues today.

The Santee Library movie club consists of about eight women and one man. The movie requirement is that the movie is based on a book. We have seen "The Sorcerer's Apprentice", "Eat, Pray, Love", and " Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows." The group enjoyed all the films except Eat Pray Love. We felt like it was too long. The Santee Library book club is made up of people who live books and book discussions. This movie club is made up of people who love movies that are based on books. In addition, these two clubs have created new friendships too. In other words, movies and books bring people together.

There are people who like movies. There are people who like books In addition, there are people who like both movies and books. Those people would enjoy a movie club that is based on books. The Santee Library movie club is a club for people who love movies based on books. It was started out of a need to fill a month with something to do because the book club doesn't meet in August. However, out of the book club grew a movie club that has grown this year. It does seem to be true that movie groups based on books bring unexpected riches. Therefore, The Santee Library movie club will continue to go to movies that will wet their literary appetites.
