The Saskatchewan provincial nomination program is the most versatile as it offers seven categories that you can qualify under. Candidates can apply for themselves under this program and do not have to worry about a points based skills assessment. Family immigration is allowed with this visa.
The skilled workers category is for applicants that have a permanent full time job offer with a company in the province or have worked in the province with a temporary work permit for at least six months.
The entrepreneur category requires money to invest in a new business or in a partnership in an existing venture. Candidates will need to have a net worth of at least CDN $250,000, proven business management experience, a detailed business plan for a company that will create jobs in the province, make an exploratory trip to the province and disclose all assets and debt.
The long haul truck driver category requires applicants to have a temporary job offer from haulage firms in the province and already have a work permit. Candidates will also need to have a valid truck license equivalent to a Class 1A license, at least two years of truck driving experience, be prepared to travel to the United States in needed and be able to speak English fluently.
The health professional category requires applicants to be working in the province on a temporary work permit when applying. They will also need to have a permanent full time job offer in the province.
The student category is for applicants that have graduated from a full time program in the province and have worked for an employer in the province for at least six months on a post graduation work permit. Candidates will also need to have a full time permanent job offer from a company in the province.
The farmers category is for candidates with a net worth of at least CDN $500,000 that want to purchase and set up a farm in the province. Candidates will need to have a signed offer to purchase land or an existing farm and must be able to show that they know how to operate a farm.
The family member category is designed for candidates that have family already in the province that wish to sponsor them. Candidates must have a full time permanent job offer from a company in the province or intend to find employment and have sufficient resources until employed. Candidates will also need to have a signed statement from a family member in the province between the ages of 18 and 49 pledging support, have completed at least a year of secondary education or training, have at least a year of work experience in chosen field, and be fluent in either English or French.
