The Saviour

mimpi
Water, water, everywhere,
Nor any drop to drink.

Samuel Taylor Coleridge

.

He woke up to find himself drowned till neck
All he could see is water
Water on all sides
Left, right, down and up
He still did not refuse to live
The rains came yet again
Then there was the human fabrication
Will he give up?

He heard his friend screaming on his left
Some rescuers showed up with food and help
That was far-off on the right
He thought he would die of hunger
His limbs are freezing, he's actually dying
He steered towards right, struggled through the tide
Will he give up?

He paused a while, turned left
He has forgotten something
Swam way back to left, to his friend
Balanced him on back and steered to the right
The goat whimpered
This was more out of joy.
He did not give up.

.
.
My heart goes it to the people of Bihar who are facing this devastating catastrophe. People are de motivated and have fefused to live!
We are already in the verge of losing the earth by our stupidity and ignorance. Global warming, natural disasters and now this heartless human fabrication! We are hurt, please stop this inhuman act!

You made me feel humbled today and I am grateful for that. Thank you - and for raising awareness of this situation in Bihar.

Touching and eye-opening. Poetry is a great way to let people know about the disasters going on and how many people are affected. Unfortunately this type of news only sends a small "blip" to the media, while suicide attacks and bombings take the spotlight. Just as many, if not more, lives are ruined in natural disasters like that in Bihar than in violent attacks.
