The Scar of Dracula

A Funny Short

As a child I always would dress up for Halloween. Every year I would try to choose a different costume. On my 7th Halloween, I decided I wanted to through a Halloween party, so with my parents help, I did. Before my guests arrived, I wanted to get into my costume knowing my friends would all be arriving in there's. So, with my mothers help, I dressed up into my Dracula costume and my mom put the white face paint all over my face. Once my guests arrived we played games and decided weather or not to go trick or treating. We went out trick or treating while it was still bright outside. On arriving back at my house, you can imagine all of us kids were bouncing off the walls because of all of the candy we had eating.

I really don't know if it was planned or if someone just brought it up, but all of the kids, including myself, ran outside together to go hide, we were playing hide and seek. It was dark out now and I knew my residential area, so I knew of the perfect place to hide. Just like in the movies, I was running forwards while looking in back of me to see if anyone was following me. There was no one so I decided I was safe alone going to my spot where I wouldn't be found. As I turned my face to look in front of me, I ran right into a white oak tree's branch that was probably a quarter of an inch thick. This sent my feet up in the air in front of me and I feel to the ground flat on my back. Feeling fine, just a little winded, I decided to continue to my hiding spot. Once the game had ended, all of us kids meet back up and decided to go back to my place. As we walked into the lit house, my mother greeted us and turned white. Without realizing it, when I ran into the tree branch I cut my cheek and it was bleeding all the way down onto my white shirt. I thought the cold wet feeling on my face was the white paint but it was blood. My mother started screaming and all my friends were a little scared. I ended up just wiping the blood away and was left with a deep cut.

To this day I still have the two inch long scar from my "battle" with the tree branch.
