The Schenectady New York Police Department on Twitter

A Brief History of the Schenectady, New York Police Department in the First Decade of the 21st Century

Dan Weaver
I follow several police departments on Twitter, including the Schenectady Police Department in New York. Even though the Schenectady Police Department has many fine officers, it has a long history of having a small group of officers who believe they are above the law. Because of this minority, the departnment's reputation has become notorious throughout New York State.

With that in mind, I have created what the Schenectady Police Department's Twitter feed would look like if all of these events had been tweeted.

I searched for a long time for a site that would list all the trangressions of the few rogue cops in the SPD but couldn't find anything, which was one reason I wrote this article.

If you click on the link I have provided for the last tweet, you will see that the SPD is still making the news. The SPD has even made it on national news and talk shows.

One more comment that I just noticed about Mozilla Firefox and Associated Content. For my last comment, Associated Content did not ask for my name as it used to, nor did it ask me to decipher the coded characters as it used to. Instead of asking, it automatically and incorrectly took the name of Rachel Weaver, who sometimes uses this computer and must have her name somewhere in Mozilla, as the comment author. I am Chet Jezierski, not Rachel Weaver - if Associated Content asked, I would have provided my name.

I've seen some stories in the news from time to time about the Schenectady Police Department, but I didn't think their issues were this plentiful. Good job putting all of this together into a single article.
By the way, if I read an Associated Content article using Internet Explorer as my web browser, the Google ads appear in the wrong location on my computer screen, blocking out some of the article text. But using Mozilla Firefox as my web browser solves this problem - with Mozilla, the ads appear where they belong and I can read the entire article.
