The Science of Paranormal Investigation

John Messina
Paranormal investigation is providing evidence of the existence of a non-physical entity present in a house or elsewhere. A non-physical entity can be described as the essence (energy) of a departed person whose spirit has not left earth's astral plane.

Some may disagree that paranormal investigation is a science. However if evidence in the form of an EVP sessions, video recordings, and digital pictures is not evidence enough, then what is?

All matter in the universe has a unique energy pattern, the same holds true for the energy remains of the deceased. Disbelievers will argue that once a person has physical died that is the end. Consciousness does not die because it is not in the brain. This was written up in a 2009 article in Perspectives on Psychological Science by Harold Pashler from the University of California.

Mediums and psychics tap into energy remains of the deceased and communicate with them on a conscious level. This has been proven many times when a psychic confirms information with a family member or friend that only they know.

It has been said many times over that, "We are spiritual beings having a human experience". Our brain cannot comprehend that this life is just an illusion and therefore our ego immediately dismiss the fact that this cannot be true.

There are many realities and multi universes out there that can be explored once we leave our body, in the process of physical death. Actually this exploration can be done in a controlled out-of-body experience but can take many years to perfect it.

Paranormal investigation requires the use of some of the electronic devices below for recording the evidence. All evidence must be carefully reviewed and any that does not appear paranormal must be omitted from the findings.

Paranormal Investigation Equipment

• Digital audio recorder. Records non-physical sounds during an EVP session.

• K2 or Tri-field meter. Both detect the presence of electromagnetic energy. A base-line first needs to be established to rule out the possibility of faulty electrical wiring.

• Digital camera to capture evidence of a non-physical form.

• Night vision camera to record the presence of a non-physical entity. Many digital video recorders have this capability.

• Ovilus - an electronic device that has a built-in vocabulary of words. The idea behind its use is that a spirit will use the vocabulary of words to communicate with the investigator. Some investigators prefer a digital recorder because they find the ovilus to be randomly repetitious.

Whatever method is used to gather evidence in a paranormal investigation all possible explanations must be ruled out before an investigator can say they have scientific evidence.
