The perfect tree eludes me.

The first one leans

The next is brown

A third too short

Just too near the ground.

The fourth is fat

Five way too tall

Six is skinny

Just no limbs at all.

Number one or one-hundred

I do not see

A spruce or Fir

Just no perfect tree.

My patience is frayed

As I twist my hair

The perfect tree

Just is not there.

The one that I choose

I finally see

Will soon become

Just a great tree!

With all the lights

Bulbs tinsel and bows

Propped in the corner

The beauty grows.

How could I doubt?

Why didn't I see?

There is no "ugly"

Christmas Tree.
