The Seaside Motel in Cayucos California Inspires Loyalty

Most People Who Stay at the Seaside Motel Once, Stay Again and Again

The Seaside Motel is located at 42 South Ocean Avenue in Cayucos, California. This unique little motel is owned by Rick and Rebecca Roquet and their tender loving care is seen all over the property.

The Seaside Motel is within a short walking distance to the beach as well as numerous restaurants, coffee shops and large antique shops. The outside of the Seaside Motel in Cayucos is a light pink color and resembles the beach motels you might see in the 1950's. The exterior is well kept up by the owner's, Rick and Rebecca.

The best part of the Seaside Motel, in my opinion, is the outside patio/garden area. You can sit outside and enjoy beautiful flowers, a view of the ocean and a hot cup of coffee. You can also grill in the garden and there is adequate seating for the guests.

Some of the 12 rooms have at least a partial view of the Pacific Ocean. They have 6 regular rooms, 4 kitchenettes and 2 suites to choose from at the Seaside Motel. Each room is individually decorated with a garden theme. On my last stay at the Seaside Motel (July 2010), I stayed in the Cayucos Cottage Kitchenette. I have stayed at the Seaside Motel in Cayucos at least 10 times in the last 10 years. The rooms are always clean and kept up nicely.

Prices for the rooms run from $80-$145 a night depending on which room you choose and what time of the year you are visiting. Your best chance for reserving a room at the Seaside Motel is to call with as much advance notice as possible. Because it is a small motel, and has established a loyal customer base, it is rare to simply drive up and find a vacancy.

One of my favorite things about the Seaside Motel is the charming décor. My least favorite thing is that the walls are not quite thick enough when you happen to be staying in a room next to small kids or loud adults. I have stayed in half of the rooms at the Seaside Motel and found that how quiet your neighbor is can dictate how peaceful your stay will be. Most people are eager for peace and quiet, which is why they come to the quaint little coastal town of Cayucos.

If you are looking for a place to have breakfast that is near the Seaside Motel, I highly recommend the Sea Shanty Restaurant at 296 South Ocean Ave. It is just down the road from the Seaside Motel and the breakfast is affordable and delicious. Cayucos is a beautiful little seaside town located between Cambria and Morro Bay. If you have the chance to visit, you definitely should do so.

You can make reservations at the Seaside Motel by calling 800.549.0900. You can also email them at Relax@SeasideMotel.com. Click here to visit the Seaside Motel website.

Thanks Jack--but Cayucos is a Central California coastal town--pretty far from So. Cal:) Check it out though--it's my favorite place to visit.
