The Secret Formula: A St. Patrick's Day Limerick

St. Patrick's Day Limerick - the Secret Formula

Thomas Griffin
This is my humble attempt to make an awesome St. Patrick's Day limerick! "What in the world is a limerick??", you may ask. Well, I shall tell you! A limerick is "a five-line poem written with one couplet and one triplet. The rhyme pattern is a a b b a with lines 1, 2 and 5 containing 3 beats and rhyming, and lines 3 and 4 having two beats and rhyming."1 It is meant to be funny and comical, often containing literary devices such as pun and hyperbole. So now, let's check out the limerick I composed!

"The Secret Formula" - an original limerick

The clover just new he would win
His luster gave lookers "the grin"
"But oh no! I am swaying!
And my leaves are decaying!
Please give me my tonic and gin!"

Hope you enjoyed it!!

    Thomas, you've written great line
Writing limerick your very first time.
Though you claimed it quite humble,
    Never once did you bumble,
And I hope that you'll now look at mine!

I also wanted to let you know that always do comment for comment. (This is just if you are interested.) Come view all of the pages of one of my articles, and leave a comment to let me know if you did that, and I'll do the same for you! That way we help each other get page views. (My comments are often generic and just talk about Woofles or being busy because I am a busy person, but I am reading!)
