The Secret to Getting Free Clothes at Fashion Bug

Alicia Bodine
There are only 2 stores I can really shop for clothes-Fashion Bug and JC Penny. That is because I am 5'7" tall and for some reason other stores think that when you become a woman you shrink. I end up having to buy all Junior sizes just to get long enough pants and skirts. Because I spend so much time at theses stores I have discovered some real secrets to save money on clothing. This article will just deal with Fashion Bug and how you can end up getting clothes for free!

The first thing you have to do to get free clothing is to apply and receive a Fashion Bug credit card. This puts you on their mailing list. You will receive valuable coupons that are far better than the ones you see in your weekly flyers. These coupons will say $10 off if you spend $10. Do you know what that means? That is a free $10! Never throw these away. You can get free clothes for other people in need if you don't want to use it yourself. One time I couldn't find anything I liked so I bought 3 t-shirts for the teenage girls that lived next door. Their mom is a single mom just like me and she didn't have any extra money to buy new clothes for the kids. They loved the shirts.

The second thing you need to do is take advantage of Fashion Bugs clearance items. Every section almost always has a rack or two of clearance items. This is true of every Fashion Bug store I have ever been in. I have bought clothes as cheap as $.99. As a matter of fact, today I bought a pair of brown jeans for $1.98. There usually is both seasons of clothes on sale so you can still get clothes that are in season. Jeans I believe are always in season anyway.

Third, you need to combine the above two steps. I make a purchase usually between $11 and $15. I hand them my coupon to receive my free $10 and end up with a balance of $1-$5. Here is the secret: Pay that $1 or $5 balance with your Fashion Bug credit card. It will trigger the company to send you another coupon. You can do this as many times as you want. Sometimes I go back to the store more than once in a week. With my last $10 coupon I bought a pair of jeans for $1.98, a skirt for $1.98, a tank top for $3.98 and a plain t-shirt for $3.98. That brought my total to $12.12. With the coupon my balance was $2.12. That basically means I got 2 free tops, a free skirt, and only had to pay for the jeans.

Remember the secret is to use your Fashion Bug credit card even if you balance is $.25 or $1. Happy Shopping!
