The Secret Life of Guilt

A.M. Morgan
Commitment hides in the background fighting to cross the finish line

While nothing seems to get easier to decipher with time

Because sadness roams around the perimeter of the truth

The past has not spoken but the future knows not how to move

The present remains disengaged by a failure to turn life's fragile pages

This story is imperfectly written full of passages of internal conflicts masked by rage

A heart is torn into pieces resting on an emotionally empty stage

For a love was lost being taken for granted and now a faded picture remains

But no one can move forward because of guilt's irremovable stain

Damn. Good poem. You always seem too illustrate your work so well. It feels like I have lived it.
