Find a Routine
You must stop relying on products that promises great results but never works. You must find what works for you and not what ads, best friends, or family members say works for them. This might prove expensive since at first. Start by picking up samples or ordering free samples on hair products websites. You can also swap hair products with family and friends. Once you find what works for your hair you should continue to use it, disregarding all other products.
Patience
When dealing with your hair you must have patience. No more just tugging the comb or brush through your hair. Please put down the curling iron and the ceramic irons. Step away from the hair dryer. Your hair should be your crowning glory. Please treat it as such. Wrong techniques can really leave your hair short and extremely damaged.
Stop Believing in the Myth
So what is the Myth? That only mixed black women can grow their hair long. FALSE, FALSE, AND FALSE. Please stop believing in that myth. Black women from all walks of life, mixed and non-mixed are known to grow their hair long. If you as a black woman continue to believe in the myth than you will never achieve long hair.
Join Forums
This may not seem exciting to you but I assure you that having online friends with the same goal can really be enlightening. There are several websites out there that caters to black women who wants to have long hair. One such website is www.longhaircareforum.com. This forum has black women from all over the globe both non-mixed and mixed. They all come together wanting long and healthy hair. Many of them achieve lengths they never had before. From shoulder length to waist length, these women achieved it all. The plus side to being on a forum is that there are women who photographed their growing progress, list what ingredients are bad for black women hair, which products worked/didn't work for them and the list goes on. Membership is $5 dollars per year but I assure you that you will not regret joining this website for help.

This was a great article.
Enjoyed your article. I try to tell people all the time that black (healthy) hair does grow. It's so good to see it in print.
