The basic principle is known as the Law of Attraction. It simply says that like attracts like, something that many of us can see in our own day to day life. But in The Secret we take this simple truth a step further, in that we attract that which is similar to us. Spend the day brooding about bills and more bills will arrive; envision yourself in that new car and it will be yours. Suddenly you begin to make the connection between what your thoughts take you and where you go.
Through positive thinking, we can shape our lives. The people in The Secret; such as Jack Canfield, John Assaraf, John Hagelin, and Lisa Nichols share with us their own understanding and work using The Secret. We are shown how to create the lives we want by our own thoughts. We can see time and time again through the lives of the teachers in The Secret just how powerful positive thinking can be.
To many this seems like nonsense and hot air. Knowing how to change your life for the better just by changing your thoughts can look like a page from a science fiction novel. Those who scoff at the knowledge handed out in The Secret will never really understand what they are being shown. But for those who can open their minds to the profound insights offered there is a new way of seeing the world opened up to them.
So now I have to ask, have you seen The Secret?

Post a CommentI haven't seen the movie, but I've read the book. The "Law of Attraction" is a powerful tool. "What the Bleep Do We Know?" is also awesome. Great review.
Summer,
I have seen The Secret and I loved it! I've known about and believed in the Law of Attraction for a few years now, and this movie - as dramatic as it is - was great for helping me visualize how "being magnetic" happens! It was very well done, and actually got my husband interested in LoA, where he wasn't from what I would tell him. Now he's watched it several times and is starting to see the effects of his positive thoughts. YAY!
Michelle, I saw What the Bleep too. Comparing the two, my favorite is The Secret. I could watch that once a week and focus on a different point each time. Maybe it's time for me to watch WtB again, though.
Are there any other articles here on this topic? I'm going to have to do a search. :D
I haven't seen this... yet. I read about it just a few days ago and have been waiting until I have time to sit down and take it all in. I love movies like this. Have you seen What the Bleep Do We Know? Thanks for the review of The Secret, it's great to hear what other people think about it.
