It began so small
Brown and dried
I could not imagine how it was still alive
To my surprise
It soon began green
A pointy stick above the ground
As time passed by
Leaves began to show
It's green bud
Opened a tad bit slow
Pink peeked over the edge
Brighter then the rest
Still I wait
And watch to see
It's perfect beauty unfold to me
With petals so soft
This wonder was not cross
Yet in all it's glory
I knew that soon it would die
And only it's seeds
Brown and dried
Would still be alive
Brown and dried
I could not imagine how it was still alive
To my surprise
It soon began green
A pointy stick above the ground
As time passed by
Leaves began to show
It's green bud
Opened a tad bit slow
Pink peeked over the edge
Brighter then the rest
Still I wait
And watch to see
It's perfect beauty unfold to me
With petals so soft
This wonder was not cross
Yet in all it's glory
I knew that soon it would die
And only it's seeds
Brown and dried
Would still be alive
