There are seven chakras, each associated with another division of the body along the spine from the perineum to the tip of your head. Each chakra is related with a particular body location, a color, a key emotional/behavioural effect, in addition to as several other personal aspects including identity, goals, rights, etc.
The seven chakras are: Muladhara- base of the spine; Svadhisthana- abdominal cavity, private parts, lower back/hip; Manipura- solar plexus; Anahata- heart region; Visshudha- throat; Ajna- brow; Sahasrara- top of head, cerebral cortex.
Through the motions and positions of yoga, you will be able to discover to sharpen your concentration and energy to and from the various chakras in your body. This can allow you to compensate for areas that might be out of synch with the rest of your body or not active in the least. From balancing the energy amidst all seven of the chakras, balance can be attained. This spiritual energy is called Kundalini energy.
In its dormant state, it can be visualized as a coiled up snake resting at the base of your spine, the Muladhara chakra. Since the chakras play as valves or pumps shaping the current of energy through your system, mastered and purposeful movements such as yoga can be highly beneficial in realigning your chakras in some respects that can make outstanding benefits to you in your physical and emotional well-being.
