The Sexiest Plus Size Women Nude in 'Glamour' Magazine

Lizzie Miller is a plus-sized model who recently made a splash by posing nude in 'Glamour' magazine. The model let her gut hang out in all its glory, and men and women took note, applauding her for showing what a "real" beautiful woman looks like. Now'Glamour' is at it again with a whole slew of nude plus size women posing in its pages, and it seems that thin may no longer be as in, with stars like Christina Hendricks popping up in discussions about who some of the sexiest women alive are.

The new 'Glamour' photo features some of not only the sexiest plus size women you'll ever see, but some of the sexiest women, period. Crystal Renn (my plus size girl crush number 2), Lizzie Miller, and many other famous plus size models pose together nude, rolls and all, to try and send the message that you don't have to be anorexic to be a beautiful woman. And with celebrities like the incomparable Christina Hendricks (my plus size girl crush number 1) of 'Mad Men' fame and America Ferrera of 'Ugly Betty' (who's definitely far from ugly off of the show) wowing men and women alike, it seems that thin may finally really not be as in anymore.

Christina Hendricks has a Marilyn Monroe with a little more look that's drool-inspiring, and other plus size stars like Jennifer Hudson, Queen Latifah, and Jordin Sparks are all proving that sometimes curves will get you more attention on the red carpet than protruding collar bones. As a size 2 myself, I sometimes really envy these women, and wonder if I could pull off the Christina Hendricks look if I gained about forty pounds.

You could argue that the attention that stars like Christina Hendricks and Jennifer Hudson are getting could be sending the wrong message to girls, that being that it's okay to gain weight and eat whatever you want, but I really feel that most of the women getting applauded for having real curves are plus size, not oversized. There's a difference between being a healthy, normal weight and being obese, and none of the nude models in the 'Glamour' picture or the stars mentioned here fall in that category.

Tyra Banks, who I really can't stand, stood up for her weight gain when tabloids attacked her for packing on a few pounds, and I would say that for once I agreed with her on something. She was in no way "fat" in the photos that were taken of her, and she still looks as sexy as ever (she just needs to keep her mouth shut a little more). And speaking of Tyra Banks, a winner of her show, 'America's Next Top Model', broke ground in the fight against the bone-thin ideal by becoming the first plus size model to win the competition. Whitney Thompson was no less beautiful than any of the other models on the show, but it's sad that high fashion so often means being a low weight. It's nice to see clothing companies like Lane Bryant giving plus size women such fashionable clothing options and featuring plus size models that are considered just as sexy as any you'll see in a fashion mag.

And more plus size women are also making waves on TV. There's the show 'Drop Dead Diva' that features the beautiful Brooke Elliott and plenty of great guests appearances from the likes of Delta Burke, Liza Minnelli, and Paula Abdul, and there's 'More to Love', a dating competition where being a size 2 isn't a requirement. Even the show 'Dance Your Ass Off', which is supposed to be about losing weight, has a plus size host and helps whittle contestants down to a healthy but not stick-thin weight.

So when it comes to the sexiest plus size women and how plus size women are portrayed in the media, our society is making great progress. Once we understand that there's a difference between a healthy weight and a dangerous weight and that you don't have to be a size 2 to be sexy, we'll finally be in the right place. Until then, women should learn to just live a healthy lifestyle and do their best to feel sexy, whether they're a size 2 or a size 12.
