The Shark Hand Vacuum

Shark vacuum cleaners were something I first heard about on those infamous infomercials. I seldom watch an infomercial to the end so I really didn't know much about Shark vacs when I went shopping for a vacuum cleaner. My upright vac wasn't getting into the tight corners or cleaning up some of the messes my three kids make as well as I wanted so I checked out the Shark hand vac.
The price was moderate so I bought one at Sears. I was impressed that the Shark had made the transition from infomercial land to a reputable department store like Sears. That in itself influenced me to give the product a try.
The Shark Hand Vac came with an attachable hose, a strap that allows the user to carry the vac around like a canister vacuum, and brushes to keep it clean. The bagless system appealed to me - I hate cleaning out those dust filled bags and since that time, I've replaced my upright with another bagless vac but that's another story!
I was impressed with the Shark as soon as I turned it on. The sucking power was incredible and it cleaned out the tiniest, tightest corners with ease. I have two dogs and a cat that leave hair around. The Shark immediately cleaned up hair and left my carpet clean, clean, and clean!
When my kids spill popcorn or other things, the Shark offers quick clean up and reaches into those places where traditional vacs can't really reach.
The one drawback is that the filter and cup that hold the dirt are small. It's vital to empty the Shark after each use and important to clean the filter. Eventually, the filter can become clogged and affect the operation of the Shark. New filters are available and can be bought at Sears or Wal-Mart. I'm sure other retailers offer them as well. So, if the mess is large, you may have to empty the cup more than once.
That's the only drawback and it's workable. Otherwise, this small hand vac outperforms almost every vacuum cleaner I have ever owned. It's great and I recommend it.
