The Sidewalk Angels Foundation : Help Them Help Those Without a Voice
Make the Right Decision to Help Those in Need
Don't you think that this year would be a good time to start a new tradition? The Sidewalk Angels Foundation started helping those in need in 2003. Why not join them this year by donating or volunteering? A donation of time is as good if not better than a gift of money, because a worthy cause needs both.
It does not take much to help those who are not able to help themselves. Donating any amount of money, giving up an hour or more of your time, even donating things such as blankets or old clothes can help an animal or a person more than you think. All it takes is for you to make the decision to do it.
Pets Alive for instance. Not only do they pick up and house animals who have been abandoned or given up, they also find people who will love them as they should be loved. It takes a lot of money and time to keep a place like Pets Alive running. Money and time from people who want to see these beautiful animals taken care of.
Sidewalk Angels Foundation is one of Pets Alive's biggest benefactors, yet it still is not enough. More is needed, it is always needed. Animals are being abandoned and abused on a daily basis, it is a never-ending vicious cycle and help is needed continuously.
Pets Alive has also decided that they will be opening a new shelter in Puerto Rico to merge with Manos por Patas (Hands for Paws). If you are not familiar with Manos por Patas, I suggest you visit their website and become familiar. It is heartbreaking to say the least. Volunteering and donations are needed even more now.
What else can you do to make a difference? Send in old blankets, towels, old clothes, animal collars of all sizes, leashes, dog toys, cat toys, animal food, kennels, animal bowls, brushes, things that you yourself would need for your animals. They need all that and then some.
How can you raise money for The Sidewalk Angels Foundation? Get out there and make your voice heard. Have bake sales, have yard sales, you can even go and customize shirts online and give the proceeds to them. The possibilities are endless.
Make the decision to give to those who are in need, it is by far a choice that will make all the difference in so many ways. Do not be like so many people who say they want to give but never do, actions speak louder than words.
