The Simple, Basic Weight Loss Method that Works for Anyone
Could This Simple Solution Be the Secret Weight Loss Weapon that Everyone Has Been Looking For?
Study Proves Simple Weight Loss Elixir Works
Medical research indicates that if people want to be healthier, they should drink more water and drink less high-calorie, sugar-sweetened beverages. In a study presented to the 240th National Meeting of the American Chemical Society, senior author of the study Brenda Davy, Ph.D. stated, "We are presenting results of the first randomized controlled intervention trial demonstrating that increased water consumption is an effective weight loss strategy."
This study was conducted on two groups of adults between the ages of 55 and 75 years. The first group would drink two cups of water right before each meal, while the second group had no water prior to their meals. A low-calorie diet was used throughout the study which lasted 12 weeks. The results were quite amazing with the water drinkers losing more than 15 pounds, and the non-water drinkers losing just 11 pounds. Over the course of a year, those who drink two eight-ounce glasses of water before each meal may lose more than 60 pounds using this method along with a low-calorie diet.
Even Better Weight Loss News for Diet Soda Drinkers
Davy's studies also indicated that other beverages like diet sodas and those drinks sweetened with artificial sweeteners can also be a help in filling up the stomach with a substance that has little or no calories. Drinking more water before every meal also helps folks to lose more weight because they are drinking water in place of a sugar-sweetened, high-calorie soft drink or soda. Less calories consumed from sodas and sugary drinks at each meal contributes to overall weight loss, especially over the long term.
She also warned that using high-calorie sodas or other drinks sweetened with sugar or high-fructose corn syrup to fill the stomach before a meal would not be a good idea. Facts indicate a typical 20-ounce soda sweetened with sugar contains about 250 calories and as much as 18 teaspoons of sugar. Apparently, drinking diet sodas and artificially sweetened drinks before a meal have the same affect as drinking water.
There is no magic potion or supernatural elixir to help folks lose those extra pounds and inches, but there is water - the latest and greatest weight loss method. This study seems to suggest that he answer to successful weight loss has been with us all along and we have just missed it. Two eight-ounce glasses of simple water taken before each meal helps folks lose significant weight. So drink up and start losing weight today.
