The Sims 3: Tips for Making Money (Simoleons)
The Easiest and Fastest Methods to Earn Money Other Than Working a Job
Tip #1: Get a Hobby
An easy way to earn extra is to have your Sim take up a hobby such as writing or painting. Writing is the best hobby for earning money as you continue to earn the royalty payments every Sunday for six weeks after you finish writing a book. However, the other hobbies are still a good way to make extra money if you already have the skills used in them high traits that boost their profits, but if you starting without any or a low amount of skill in the other hobbies or traits that relate to other hobbies you should take up writing.
To start writing, you need to buy your Sim a computer or go to the library use the computers there. Select the computer, then select "Writing...," and then write the book style of your choice. In addition, as your Sim's writing skill improves, you will receive more book style you can write, earn higher royalties. These new book styles earn higher royalties but take longer to write.
Tip #2: Get Married
If your Sim is still single, having your Sim get married to a rich Sim can help earn some extra money. Even if you do not move your Sim into the other Sim's probably larger house, you can benefits in two ways from having your Sim get married. First, when a Sim gets married and have another Sim move into the household, you will normally earn a few thousand Simoleons just for getting married. Second, you get another Sim in your household to work another job and have a second hobby. Also, since even the cheapest household that comes with the game can support two Sims, having your Sim get married normally does not cost anything.
To get married, have your Sim build a high relationship with another Sim who is at least in the young adult stage. The gender of the other Sim can be either the same or the opposite gender of your Sim. Once your Sim has a high relationship with the other Sim, have your Sim ask if the other Sim is single, which can be done from the romance category. If the sim is single, have you're continue to do options from the romance category until you can "Propose Go Steady" and then select that option. If the other Sim accepts the proposal, which they should if your Sim already had a high relationship with the other Sim, then, select "Propose Marriage" and, then, "Private Wedding." If those options are not available, then do romance option until they appear. Once you select "Private Wedding," the Sims should get married, and, then, you get to decide whether your Sim will move into the other Sim's household or vice-versa. Then, you are finally married after deciding who is going to move. If the Sim already had a partner, then you should do romance options until you can ask the other Sim to break-up. Select that option and, then, continue as if the other Sim was single.
Tip #3: Buy a Partnership in a Business
If you have any extra money, you should spend it to buy a partnership in one of the businesses in the neighborhood. While buying a partnership in a business is expensive, with the cheapest business costing 6,000 Simoleons, having a partnership in a business earns you money that you can collect from the business every Monday. Even though buying a partnership is not a good way to start earning money, it is a good way to invest the money you earn from other methods.
To buy a partnership in a business, first collect about 10,000 Simoleons because the option to buy a partnership will not appear if you do not have enough money to buy a partnership in the business. Once you have the money, click on a few businesses until you find the option to buy partnership and select that option. Then, your Sim your will head to business and enter it you buy the partnership. After a while, your Sim will return from the business with a partnership agreement in the Sim's inventory. Then every Monday after 9:00 AM, you can click to find the option to collect money from the business. After selecting the option to collect the money, your Sim will return to the business and collect the money.
There are other methods to earn money, but these are some of the easiest and most effective methods. I hope these tips help you with earning some extra money in The Sims 3.
