The age old karaoke machine has struck joy in the hearts of millions. And what's not to love, honestly? The ability to sing your favorite songs along with the music while the lyrics are spelled out for you on a screen? It's a dream come true and a lot of fun! The question is, do you really need one of your own for home? The Singing Machine Karaoke System answers with a resounding yes. But find out for yourself it it's something you want to have.

The Machine

This karaoke machine has everything that you'd expect and a bit more. It includes a 7 inch black and white screen that relays the lyrics to you based on special CDs that can be bought from the company. The screen is a bit small and can make it a little frustrating to read, but it can also be connected to a larger TV to make it easier for you. The CDs that work with the machine have to be bought specifically from the company and the selection is not great, so that is something to consider before making this purchase.

Besides the CDs, it also allows you to play and record onto cassettes using the microphone that comes with it. It has a second microphone jack so that people can duet on your machine. The microphone system also has a pitch control, which is great for having fun hitting those high notes that you could never do normally. The audio quality is impressive and uses the built in stereo system.

Pros

The system is easy to use, fun, and is pretty impressive. It has a neat feature where you can have the actual singing play along with you so that you can learn the song, but then disappear when you start singing into the microphone. Tired of singing? Just let the machine take over for the parts where you want to take a sip from your drink. The machine is durable and will last a lifetime easily. It basically does exactly what you expect it to do.

Cons

It is expensive if you want a wide variety of songs to sing and since you'll probably only want to be singing the current hits, you will constantly be buying the latest CD. There are only 4 songs per CD too, so the price of those will quickly add up. Changing CDs also takes a while since the machine is slow about recognizing and loading the data. Unless you have the money to buy a lot of CDs, it has the potential to get boring.
