The Single Red Rose; What Does it Mean?
Why were you given?
Well, those are the ones they sell
Tied up with a ribbon.
Too much emphasis
On the reason behind what they did
Can't we just smile and say thank you
Like an innocent kid?
If I may say, from this womans view
It wasn't with great thought
This single red rose, they bought.
They will woo
At first, when they pursue.
Most never do they think
Should it be red, or is it pink
They pick it up, no eye will they blink.
Driven only by the hope
That it softens up your heart
To see the expression it unveils
Giving hope, more will start.
Only do I know
From experience of the past
Don't over analyze the reasons
Of something that will not last.
No, thanks but
Question it no more
Just smile coyly and say thank you
When it shows up at the door.
