The Sleeping Dog
Tuckered out from fetching
Swimming after a ball in a deep green pit
Running and jumping, throwing her ball in the air
Happy as a dog could be running through the muck
Jumping in the pit without a fear or care
What a life to be a dog
No worries, no bills, no layoffs
Just an annual check-up at the vets
That little girly of mine
She is one of a kind, completely unique
Koda senses beyond any human capabilities
She understands stress, fear, anxiety
Always does her best to make me feel better
She's the best dog I've ever owned
I don't know what I'll do when she's gone
So for now I watch her rest
All shampooed up and rinsed in the purest water around...
