The Smith & Wesson SW9VE 9mm Pistol

This is a Very Affordable Choice for Shooters on a Budget

If you are familiar with firearms you will know how good of a manufacturer that Smith & Wesson is when it comes to firearms. They have been producing quality firearms for police, military and civilian use since 1852. They are currently the largest manufacturer of handguns in the United States. It should there comes as no surprise that they produced a high quality weapon in the SW9VE

The Smith & Wesson SW9VE is chambered in 9MM caliber. The frame consists of a grey metal slide and black polymer lower frame. It is a hammerless semi-automatic and thus is only allows double action shooting. The barrel is 4 inches and the SW9VE features the standard three dot sight. It will hold 16 rounds in the magazine plus one in the chamber if you so choose. This is a very easy gun to carry as it is relatively light weighing 24.3 oz. one drawback is there is no manual safety on it though. This is a favorite of several police departments in the country for both its affordability and reliability. You can often find these new at online stores for under $300. I have not been able to find any used, but expect to pay a bit lower.

One of the best features of the Smith & Wesson SW9VE is that it is so affordable. Most 9mm semi-automatic pistols that sell new for under $300 are really not very good and fit into the Saturday night special category. The fact that it holds 16 rounds is also very nice. You would hope you do not need that many shots in a self defense situation, but it is nice to have the extra rounds if you need them. I am sure police need more than six shots very often especially in some of the larger cities. The SW9VE is a pretty accurate gun from the shooting that I have done with it.

The main drawback to the Smith & Wesson SW9VE is that the trigger pull is a bit on the heavy side. I really did not have much trouble with it, but my wife could not stand it. This is the reason that I decided against purchasing one of these. Other than that is a pretty good gun and the price is great. I found it to be very reliable and did not have any failure to feed or jams while I was shooting it. I only shot 200 rounds through one though.

I wish I had bought a 9mm instead of a 380. Ammo is more available and cheaper for the 9mm.

actually this gun has a tough trigger pull for many women, but a gunsmith can fix that for about $25-$50, also i am sure the lovely sarah palin has her own side arm already. Good joke though

I will recommend this to Sarah Palin so she can defend herself against the vitriol. LOL, folks, this is a JOKE!
