Thought they grew in US too
Presumed drops of snow...
Now, it seems the beautiful flower the snowdrop doesn't grow much in the US. Thus, my snowdrop haiku here was thought by many as being about drops of snow! - P.R.

What a lovely name for a flower.
I like diving beneath the surface here, for the US presumes a lot*- which isn't a knock against them, for I'm one, but the best politics are allegorical, even if they're not intended =-)
Sounds like a pretty flower...
We have lots of snowdrops in the UK, but I haven't seen any this year. Lots of crocuses though.
Several species of wildflowers in the US are known colloquially as snowdrops. They are all delicate and white, no matter what their scientific names are.
PS: What about the turd-drop? Ya have em by you?
DUH! Seriously, though, if you reread the poem, it COULD be considered a snow drop (not the flower). I like how it came out. Something for everyone, right? (Yep, I was one of THOSE folks. Sheesh!)
Actually, we have lots of snowdrops here. I knew exactly what you were referring to. :)
