The Social Power of Jesus Christ: Biblical Subtleties

Godfather89
Jesus Christ was a powerful figure back in the ancient world. However, there are lessons that can be taken from Jesus' actions and words.

Jesus Christ was ultimately a selfless being. Because of that, he had a lot of power. His own selfish interests were no longer around. Instead, he followed a higher desire, and because of the higher path he took, he received more responsibility and power.

I have written this article expressing the wisdom from the New Testament describing how Jesus used certain rules of power to become who he was through his actions and words. It becomes very important that with these translations to use this knowledge for the improvement of overall life of everyone and to use the power for that which is moral. He followed with what I had written in my "Christian Gnostic Manifesto" in regards to his wisdom you might be able to further know how to apply this power.

As we know Jesus has come from Royal Bloodline of King David. Therefore, a king and a good king such as David must learn how to rule. From knowledge you can infer that Jesus had the wisdom of power passed down to him through his bloodline. Now it is a time to look at what it was that Jesus learned about and applied it to his life through his words and actions.

a.
Lessons in Power

I.
Never Overshadow the Master

Jesus never made himself higher than God in the Bible instead he was humble to the fact he was the Son of God. He used the title to do the greatest good and never for evil. People who favored Jesus adored him because, he said he was the SON not GOD. When the master remains bigger than you that will be when you have the heights of power because, that's how you please or impress the master.

II.
Hide Your Intention-

Jesus said it himself when he said "Do not let the left hand know what the right hand is doing." When you hide your intentions those around you cannot prepare to defend themselves and will keep those who work against you ever guessing what maybe up your sleeve.

III.
Speak less; Do More-

When Jesus was asked questions he gave very short responses. However, his answers always seemed to come about in his actions. When you speak less the more unique and more in control you are. Not to mention the less you speak the less likely you will say something foolish.

IV. Win Attention-

Jesus needed to get his message across to people. In order to do get the message he used his own unique actions such as healing, prophecy and sermons to gain attention. It was all for the improvement of human life however, not for selfish desires. By doing this he made himself larger and mysterious than some average Joe.

V. Action Speak Louder Than Arguments

Yes this is practically the same tip as tip #3. However, let it be known that arguments stir up strong and long lasting feelings of resentment and hatred. Jesus never argued even when others argued with him.

VI. Absence Builds Respect and Honor-

Now a first sight this may seem as a lie or contradiction. However, Jesus did it when he would simply vanish or appear out of know where. A big absence is the 3 days when he was dead in the tomb. Than when he returned his followers were grateful and felt content again. By doing this he made himself less common and admired. He created his own value of himself by being around less often.

VII. Know What You Get into-

This one is kind of obvious. Jesus knew he had perfect control over all situations he got into. He knew who was bad and who was good therefore he choose his enemies wisely. He was aware of the situations and remained calm and collected.

VIII. Know When to Pull Back-

Yes, humbling yourself to the fact that you might be at a disadvantage leaves you time to reassess why you got the result you got. It can also be a time to wait and see when would be the best to return. In Jesus' case it was when he was most needed for example, the storm in the sea and the apostles thought the boat will capsize but it did not because, of Jesus.

IX. Re Create Yourself-

If there is one thing Jesus did it was that he never accepted any position or title for himself. He defined himself and did not let others define him. By defining himself he always got attention and never bored anyone. Because, of that he was the master of his own image and not the image of others.

X. Keep Your Hands Clean-

When Jesus blesses those pure in heart one can infer to keep yourself pure of a negative situation. He was pure and because of that purity everyone else who was not pure was at fault and those can be blamed for their involvement.

XI. Plan All The Way to the End-

Jesus was wise and knowledgeable and because of that was able to plan all the way to the end. He knew that because, of his actions it had the potential to do the greatest good even at the expense of his own life. By planning to the end you will be better prepared for any situation.

XII. Master the Art of Timing-

Jesus was always calm and collected when he did his works. He never was in hurry because, he knew that if you did things with haste it showed lack of control of yourself and time. He knew when it was time to stand back and when it was a time for action.

XIII. Create Compelling Spectacles-

As we know striking imagery and large symbolic gestures create an aura of power. People will be so amazed that they will not bother to look at what you are really doing. Jesus did this in many ways like healing.

XIV. "Stir up Waters to Catch Fish"-

Jesus was a classic figure using this tactic of power. The basic rule of thumb with this tip is to get your opponents mad while staying calm and collected. He found the weakness of his opponents by doing that. Calling the temple priest greedy since they were. This made his enemies mad and put them off balanced. Despite the fact that the Temple Priest got what they want Jesus still won over them.

XV. Never Appear to Perfect-

He said this in (Mark 10:18) "Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good-except God alone." God is perfect and with that perfection comes Goodness Jesus humbles himself to this fact and tells others this to. By doing this he did not make himself appear to perfect. He knew Envy creates enemies that you might not even know about. He knew that Only God can be perfect with Exemption from punishment, penalty, or harm.

XVI. Never Go Pass the Mark You Aimed For-

Jesus did his job and after his job his mission was successful. He did not try to do more than what he started because; he knew that "While I am At It Objectives" are not worth doing. Again he humbled himself to this fact so than arrogance and overconfidence would not push him further. So set a goal and when you complete the goal stop and reassess.

XVII. Keep and Maintain Formlessness.

When you take a shape you define yourself and when you define yourself people will be able to find out about you. In fact Jesus said it himself in the Book of Revelations where he says he is the alpha and omega which means the beginning and end from this we infer that nothing ever ends it changes. From this you can learn to never be set on stability but to learn to adapt in any situation and any changes. When Jesus was in the Desert for 40 days and nights he had to adapt to the temptations of Satan and the environment, this is why Satan lost the temptation over Christ.
