The Southern Announces New Food Truck

I nearly fell off my chair when my neighbor told me that Wicker Park restaurant, The Southern, located at 1840 West North Avenue in Chicago, was set to launch its new macaroni and cheese food truck, which is named The Southern Mac Truck.

By the end of January, 2011, the truck will take to the streets of Chicago and rumor has it that a delectable blue cheese and bacon mac and cheese will be featured.

Another tasty treat that is set to ride on the truck is the lobster cheddar entree, and plain old, comfort dish macaroni and cheese. The macaroni and cheese at the restaurant itself is a delicious combo of smoked Gouda cheese, breadcrumbs and macaroni. I'm hoping that the mac n' cheese truck will feature some of the side dishes that the restaurant offers like the cole slaw, fries and the infamous green bean salad tossed and pecans.
