There's no denying the cultural significance of Seattle's Space Needle; in fact, if you were to ask a stranger outside of Washington State what a building in Seattle is, the likely answer the Space Needle. The Space Needle lies in downtown Seattle, at the Seattle Center. The Space Needle stands alone as a beutiful and unique landmark in Seattle.

A good amount of people who know of the Space Needle do not know that it doubles as both a landmark and a fine dining restaurant. The focus of food is seafood; and the restaurant is quite expensive.

The Space Needle has a wide variety of fine seafood. In my trip to the Space Needle, i started with a Prawn Martini appetizer that came in Vodka Sauce. The Prawns had a nice texture; better than almost any prawn i've come across (And i live in a seafood-rich area!). The vodka sauce only improved the flavor of these prawns. The only downside was that the cost of this appetizer was a whopping 17$; the cost of a steak dinner at an average restaurant!

For drinking with my meal i ordered a total of two glasses of Poet's Leap, Columbia Valley white wine. It's not fair to review a wine based on the restaurant as the restaurant does not produce the wine, only resells it. The Space Needle did however, have quite a large selection of fine wine.

For the entre at the Space Needle i ordered the seafood pasta, which was mixture of wild salmon, halibut, Bering Sea scallops, wild Gulf shrimp, truffle cream sauce, and handmade fettucine. This was hands down the best seafood entre i have ever had the pleasure of consuming. Being in Seattle, the wild salmon was absolutely fresh and juicy; exactly the way a salmon should be. The Space Needle restaurant did a good job of not making the salmon overly prevalant in the pasta. The halibut, scallops, and shrimp were not sparse in the pasta, and they attributed to the variety of tastes in this meal. All of the seafood in this entre was quite fresh, as the Space Needle Restaurant is right in the heart of Seattle; a capitol for fishing. The only downside was that the cost of this entre was a whopping 42$.

Overall my meal at the Space Needle Restaurant was one of the best i've ever had. The appetizer was excellent but did not fill; the entre had a variety of tastes and textures and was absolutely fresh. The problem with the Space Needle Restaurant is that it is very pricey. My meal of the appetizer, two glasses of wine and the entre totalled in at 85$ before tip and taxes. The Space Needle restaurant is definately a fine dining place that should be visited only on special occasions (unless you are quite well off).
