The Sparrow

Shirley A Mandel
I am a fat, little bird.
I have brown feathers
and am squat,
for I'm built close
to the ground
that I walk on.

I 'm not glamorous
like my brother Peacock,
with his long, slender feathers,
as blue as the deepest part of the sky.
And I'm not tipped
with jewels,
nor am I decorated
with a crown.

But God has gifted me
with a song in the morning.

I sing,
and I sing to the sun.
And oh, what a melodious sound
I make!

Finally, someone else who appreciates the sparrows! They have become the enemy in the US because of man's misdeeds, not their own.

This is so very special Shirley. Even the tiny sparrow has a purpose and if God takes notice even when a tiny sparrow falls to the ground, how much, much more does He care and consider us, His beloved children, if we are born-again. This is truly wonderful. Thank you. :-)
