The Spider Web Marketing System

A Scam or a Legitimate Opportunity to Make Money Online?

Regina Paul
I'm always looking for ways to make money online, and making any sort of passive or nearly passive income is very appealing to me. A few months ago I finally signed up for this relatively new marketing system called The Spider Web Marketing System that claimed it would give you up to 12 streams of income. Since it was free I went ahead and signed up for it thinking it might be a good way to make some passive income for those times when writing gigs aren't as plentiful and money was tight, or for those times when emergencies happen. So, I signed up, but I have to admit my scam radar was working overtime. I had a hard time believing that such a supposedly good marketing system was actually free.

It didn't take me long to realize that the whole idea of it being free was simply a marketing ploy to get people to sign up for the program. I think one of the things that I found most deceptive was that it was your standard bait and switch. All the ads say it's twelve streams of income, and it's free. However, when you sign up and start watching the videos you discover pretty quickly that it's not free at all. In order to actually use the Spider Web Marketing System, you have to be willing to spend money because as is said over and over in their videos, "you have to be willing to spend money to make money." Then the videos go on to say, and trust me they are rambling in the extreme, that you can still make money with the Spider Web Marketing System, even if you don't spend any money. Honestly, I'd like for them to explain that one a little better. Here's the problem, in order to get your own Spider Web Marketing website and blog so that you too can market the system you have to pay for hosting and a domain name through a company called Global Domains. The price for this is $10 per month. Okay, granted that's only $100 a year, but this is a system that is supposed to be free. I'll admit I almost got sucked in by the proof of payment that some people participating showed, but then I'd think, "but they said it was free, and $100 a year isn't free." Here's the thing, how can you market a system when you don't have access to your own Spider Web Marketing System website and blog to help advertise it? Because you don't get one unless you buy hosting and a domain name through Global Domains. Oh, and there's one other little thing, you can't make money through the Global Domains part of their marketing system unless you spend the $10 a month on hosting and a domain name, see that is one of the twelve streams of income. Oh, and don't be fooled by the fact that they claim that you can make up to between $5-$450 for every free Spider Web Marketing System you give away. The only way you can make any money is by having the website and the only way you can get the website is buying hosting and a domain name through Global Domains. See the bait and switch? Remember, no outlay of cash for the hosting and domain name means no website to help you market the system, means no money.

Despite this, I still went ahead and listened to a few of the other videos where the guy who came up with this so-called miraculous money making system drones on and on about how great it is, and how stupid you are if you don't participate, although he says that last one rather nicely. Here's problem number two, almost half of the streams of income require that you give some kind of outlay of cash. Granted there are some that are free, but unless you go for the whole she-bang, and include all of the paid ones as well, your chances of making any money go down to almost nothing. Another problem that I see is when the internet is glutted with these Spider Web Marketing websites by all the people that paid for hosting and a domain name, how in the world are you supposed to find enough people to sign up under you to make it worth your while? While it's true that there are millions of people online everyday and that there are potentially millions of possible customers, the more websites there are with the same information, the higher the competition, and the more difficult it is to market that system. You also have the problem of getting listed in the search engines because the search engines aren't going to list hundreds of the same website on the first page or even first three pages, even if they all have different domain names. In fact, when you go and put Spider Web Marketing System into Google, it pulls up the guy, (Kimball Roundy) who created the system's website. See how sneaky that is? He had to know this when he came up with the idea that his website would be the one that was at the top of the search engines since he is the first one to have it. See if you sign up under him, then he is the one making the money, not you if your website is not the one someone signs up under. In addition, I've been reading on internet marketing forums and such that those involved with this program are having a hard time finding leads.

Don't be fooled by the testimonials. I've found that those who are doing this system become very defensive when you point out that it isn't free, and will continually insist that it is too free, even the in face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary. Finally remember, this is not a free system. Instead, it is an MLM program masquerading as a free marketing system because the only people making money are the guy who came up with it, and those who are able get people to sign up for it under them and give out their hard earned cash, probably the first few hundred who signed up in the beginning. Nobody signing up under you means no profits. No outlay of cash means no profits. Put simply, this is both a bait and switch and a scam. I don't recommend it for anyone who seriously wants to make money online or even those interested in breaking into internet marketing. There are all sorts of ways to make money online without spending a dime, writing for Associated Content is one of those ways.

  • The Spider Web Marketing System is MLM masquerading as something else.
  • Half of the income streams are ones you have to pay to participate in.
  • Member's websites will never make it to the top of search engines and maybe not to the first page.
The Spider Web Marketing System says that it is free but then tries to rope you into paying for hosting and a domain name.
