But, there are some with overwhelming urges that they feel they can not control. Modern day scientists have tried to come up with a solution to this problem, however, the only thing presently effective is castration. We may stereotype this type as mentally ill, however, there is a more complex issue going on with this individual spiritually. It is called the spirit of perversion.
The spirit of perversion is deposited, picked up through everyday activities or it can be generational.
Deposit: The spirit of perversion can and has been deposited in most cases through the many forms of sexual abuse including, but not limited to forced rape, child molestation, sexual battery, etc.
Everyday: This spirit can attach itself to it's host through pornography, bad association, and other forms of demonic media. Find yourself feeling aroused in someone's presence each an every time they come around? Either you have that spirit or they may have it and it is attempting to attach itself to you.
Generational: When a parent is undelivered from this spirit, a generational curse is present and this spirit is birthed in their offspring.
Generally, individuals infected with the spirit of perversion are what some may refer to as perverts and some appear to be everyday functioning members of society. There are the obvious cases and the not so obvious ones. Rapists, homosexuals, pedophiles, those that practice bestiality, etc. are all victims of this spirit and are the obvious cases. But, what about the not so obvious ones. They include the clergyman that has an insatiable appetite, the husband or wife that can only find satisfaction through illicit sex acts such as swinging, those addicted to self gratification, and yes, those that are addicted to sex. Those addicted to sex can be faithful or promiscuous, however, their flesh burns with such an unquenchable fire that they attempt to extinguish by submitting to it's will. Make no mistake about it, this spirit is more common than any other spirit in existence.
Those that own adult stores could write a book about the renown figures, ministers and seemingly innocent characters that frequent their store. That is because little education is given about this spirit. Most infected with it think that they have an abnormally high drive, when in reality, they are in need of deliverance. So many believe that because they are in ministry, they are not in need of any deliverance or too ashamed to ask for it. Others think that because they are baptized, they are automatically delivered from it. But, once they find themselves 'burning with desire,' they either submit to an ungodly act, seek counseling, or cry out to God for deliverance.
Seeking Deliverance
How is one delivered from this spirit? First, recognizing that you have the spirit is key. Secondly, confess and repent of your sins. Too ashamed to confess to your local church leaders? There are plenty of prayer lines that you can come onto anonymously. But, be careful who you ask to pray for you. Be prayerful first before finding a line so that Father will lead you to one that He's on. Pray against that spirit, expose it and get delivered from it. We have already spoken of praying against it, now you need to expose it. When in dealings with flesh demons, you expose them through fasting along with prayer. Fasting is humbling yourself and causing your flesh to come under the submission of your spirit and the Spirit of God. Your flesh should never run the show, but in everyday life, it will try. Pray and ask God how long of a fast that you need to submit to. Now that it is exposed, it's time to banish it. The Holy Spirit removes what is not of God. I would suggest going to a deliverance ministry and coming forth. Now, again, you do not need to walk to the front and state your problem, just go. Be lead of the Spirit through prayer. Again, for all and every move you make, pray first.
Remaining Delivered
Remove any and all pornographic materials from your home. Stop associating with others that have a spirit of perversion. Just pray for them and you may minister to them, only if led by God. If you have been previously involved in an act of ungodliness with another being, you may not want to, but you will have to completely disassociate yourself from them. Father has to deliver them, however, until then, you do not want them to tempt you back into sin. Always stay prayerful and ask God to remove any and everyone from your life that causes or tempts you to compromise your salvation. If you are involved in sinister acts like pedophilia or bestiality, God can still deliver you. You have to want deliverance and then you have to ask for it. Isolating yourself only temporarily retards the spirit, however, it has to be dealt with so that you may lead a normal life. Also, keep in mind Luke 11:24-26 and it reads, "When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out. And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished. Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first." This is to alarm you that this spirit will attempt to return and if you allow it in you once again, you will be worse off than before. So, you must daily submit yourself to the Word of God. Fast often, pray like your life depended on it...because it does. Years can pass and this spirit can and will attempt to come back to what it perceives as it's home...that's you.
Lastly, walk as you are called. Everyone was not called to be celibate, so if celibacy is a problem for you, a priesthood is not ideal for you. Apostle Paul spoke in 1 Corinthians 7:8-9,"I say therefore to the unmarried and widows, it is good for them if they abide even as I. But if they cannot contain, let them marry: for it is better to marry than to burn." So many times, our leaders fall because they are in a position that God Himself did not place them in. Forsake pride and ask God to place you where He has called you.
There is more truth in this world than you could ever imagine. Reading the Word of God daily, routinely attending church services, fasting often and asking God for more wisdom, knowledge and understanding causes Him to reveal to you the hidden secrets of this world. "Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets: She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying, How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?" (Proverbs 1:20-22) The more you know, the less you will fall victim to.
