The Spoils of Disease

It's no secret that the healthcare industry makes a lot more money off a case of bowel cancer than they do off a case of the shingles. They reap the rewards from an iatrogenic infection (that means physician-caused), and lose out when you exercise and eat traditional foods. Is it any surprise then that the public health agencies putter around a few thousand dollars to produce conflicting nutritional studies on eggs, yet are like hound dogs at the smell of blood when it comes to some swine flu?

Of course it's not. You're certainly beyond surprise now. You've actually read Robert Kennedy's article "Deadly Immunity" and are aware of the meetings where public health experts discuss how to hide the valid causative link between thimerosal and neurodegenerative disorders. You are fully aware that the Sunday Times "journalist" Brian Deer fabricated his allegations concerning Wakefield's study that hypothesized the MMR vaccine link to autism.

You probably know that hospitals rank up there with the New Orleans gutters for pathogen exposure, and fluoride doesn't do diddly for your teeth except make them brittle, causing dental and skeletal fluoridosis among other things. You saw early on that tobacco made a perfect scapegoat to hide the fact much of the cancer epidemic is due to a constant and always increasing exposure to crude oil, its derivative plastics, aluminum, and stress.

Sebelius' office did not respond to requests to produce the 2008 data. Because it does not exist.

Now you're ready to step into the Twilight Zone. 200,000 Americans die every year from iatrogenic causes (Health Secretary Sebelius claims the number is 100,000, apparently using 1980s research). Half are killed by preventable hospital disease. Half are killed by physician errors. All 200,000 annual deaths are due to one reality, medicine is a private industry. It is headed up by Beltway bureaucrats interested in the public health as much as the Pentagon is interested in national security.

Hence, instead of performing their designated roles of seeing to the public health, they spin. Healthcare is an industry, and we can expect more of the same. More externalizing of costs onto society and internalizing of profits to Big Pharma. More disease-profiteering, bloated bureaucratic budgets, and manipulation of the public by fear. We can expect more 'science by consensus' and less science, more shrill idiots accusing non-vaccinating parents of child abuse, because they've gone against CDC recommendations. We can expect more unverified, untested theories like 'herd immunity' and 36,000 people dying of annual flu to be manufactured and presented as fact.

And are we, the underwriters of Bush's disastrous liberation of the Iraqi people in search of Saddam's secret WMD stockpiles, ever going to be surprised again? Surely not as we continue to pay the interest on the Federal Reserve's loan of trillions to unreported financial entities, as we fund Obama's psychopathic desire to make Afghanistan safe. For Malalai Joya (bless her) and the Afghan people? No, for the same mass murdering/misogynistic bastards Reagan's freedom-fighting mujahideen deposed in the 1980s.

I hate writing this, but I hate even more knowing it. In this vaunted heartland of empire, the land of plenty, the shining city on a hill, lives a group of child-adults patriotically reciting the pledge and doing what daddy says. Spineless good-for-nothing traitors to the intellectual traditions that once brought so much hope to the world's civilized barbarians.

I could be kind and lay the blame on the big bad government, or a few bad apples, but kindness in service to a lie of this magnitude is torture.

Calculate the capital, up the republic my skinny ass.
T.v. tells a million lies. the papers terrified to report
Anything that isnt handed on a presidential spoon,
Im just profoundly frustrated by all this. so, fuck you, Man. -REM "Ignoreland"
