Modern day animated characters Alvin and the Chipmunks have finally met their competition called the "Chipettes" a three piece singing female group!
Although, the (boring) professional film critics gave this lovable family film released in theaters on December 23, 2009 an average rating of D. Yahoo.com and over-all Internet users gave this movie an A- rating.
Alvin and his brother's new competition (the Chipettes) is composed of the excellent "sped-up audio" voices of: Jeanette (voiced by Anna Faris), and Eleanor (voiced by Amy Poehler), Brittany (voiced by Christina Applegate), and eventually managed by the "Bad Guy" of both films called Ian Hawke (David Cross).
After Alvin and the Chipmunks original manager David Seville (Jason Lee) is injured in a stage accident, he ask his aunt Jackie to look after them and the fact that he has made arrangements for the three to go to school. Unfortunately, she too accidentally falls down a staircase and is hospitalized!
These three comical/lovable animated characters go to school and start daily and lovably fraternizing with other school mates unfortunately causing certain family problems, especially with Alvin and Simon.
Slow sadness falls over the third brother, Theodore, and he somehow "feels left out?" of the three. Because his two brothers are spending so much time with their new friends from school, (small theater children DID however seem to understand this heart-felt human situation), fortunately, this sad part was very short and the music seemed to keep the theater children interested during this beautiful 89 minute film.
The story goes on where Alvin and the Chipmunks enter into a battle of the bands contest ironically competing against their counter-parts called the "Chipettes", whom eventually won because of forfeit. Because distraught and confused Alvin decided not to show up for the contest. However as usual? The good always prevail over the bad in the end! Especially for small children.
If you're looking for a 2010 theater night-out with the entire family or planning on renting this historic children's DVD film sometimes in the near future? This film is the place to be in modern day family life here in the 21st century!
This movie honestly has the screen graphics, simple easy to understand story or plot, gigantic stereo sound effects, and the enormous continuous non-stop " visual effects" for viewers of all ages.
The music and dancing animated characters in itself keeps small children from ages 3-12 "continuously" interested in the film for some strange reason? "Ironically?" even adults in the right loving and caring mood will truly enjoy this film.
As most film critics and even recent theater viewers will agree in this year of 2010 or more? This film or movie is a great pacifier amongst children of all ages, and will most likely become a "great hit!" in the years to come.
