The Stalking of Nathan Fillion: A Filmography

Jennifer Sapa
Well, I can't really stalk Nathan Fillion because last I checked stalking is illegal. Plus I live in Missouri. I have no idea where Nathan lives but I'm sure it isn't Missouri. Anyway, since I can't stalk Nathan Fillion in real life, I will stalk him through movies. Yep, now I have a personal goal: watch every movie Nathan Fillion has been in. Easy enough, I think. First I need to go to IMDB.com and check out his filmography. I am just looking at his movie history. I will save his TV history for a later date.

First movie is Ordeal in the Artic a TV movie from 1993. How am I going to find a TV movie from 1993? Hmmm, stalking Nathan through movies might be harder then I thought. Blockbuster.com does not carry it so I will skip this one for now. The movie does actually look interesting. It is based on a true story about the survival of plane crash survivors stuck in freezing temperatures. Hopefully they didn't resort to eating the unlucky passengers. Anyone remember Alive: The Miracle of the Andes?

His next movie was Strange and Rich from 1994. Darn it, another one I will have to skip. Apparently Blockbuster.com also doesn't carry independent Canadian films. IMDB.com doesn't list a plot summary so I have no idea what the movie is about.

Oh well, next on the list is Saving Private Ryan from 1994. I have actually seen this movie and I'm not watching it again, way too depressing for me. I vaguely remember his character dying. I could be wrong but maybe not because I'm pretty sure almost everyone died in that movie.

Nathan's next role was a small part in the 1999 movie Blast from the Past. I have seen this movie too and I don't remember Nathan in it at all. I just remember the movie being really bad and re-enforcing my opinion that Alicia Silverstone is a terrible actress.

His next movie was Dracula 2000. It was actually a big movie back then, for like five minutes. Should I be ashamed to admit it that I actually own a copy of this movie? My guilty pleasure is vampire movies, no matter how bad they are. I do remember Nathan looking extremely cute in a black suit and a white collar (he plays a priest). I can't remember if he dies or not. Guess I will dust off my copy and watch it tonight.

Water's Edge from 2003 is next on the list. I haven't seen this one so I just added it to my movie queue. The plot outline is listed as "A novelist and his wife uncover a vast web of sex, murder and deceit in their quiet hometown." Great, the movie just screams "B" and it stars Daniel Baldwin. Oh well, I will still give it a chance since Nathan is the main character.

Next movie listed is Holllywood Division from 2004. This movie is another dead-end. No details on IMDB.com and not available for rent from Blockbuster. I'm not even for sure if it is a movie or a failed TV series.

The next movie is called Outing Riley from 2004. The plot is about a gay brother trying to decide whether or not to tell his brothers that he is gay. Outing Riley isn't a movie that I would normally choose to watch but Nathan isn't the gay brother so I will give it a chance.

Nathan's next movie is Serenity from 2005. Of course I have seen this movie like 20 times and if you are reading this article then you probably have to. Yes, Serenity is one of my all time favorite movies. Do I even need to waste your time with a plot summary?

His next movie is Slither from 2006. I have owned this DVD for over a year and have never watched it. I guess I just haven't been in the mood for killer alien leeches. But I will make it a point to watch the movie this weekend.

White Noise 2: The Light is Nathan's next movie. I actually just finished watching the movie today and was very impressed. If you are interested in a review, I have posted a review under my content.

The next movie is Waitress from 2007 starring Keri Russell and of course Nathan. I haven't watched it yet and I don't know if I want to. I am not a huge fan of Felicity, oops I mean Keri. Perhaps one night I will watch it after a good bottle of wine.

What no more movies? Crap, I have only found three Nathan movies to watch. Reviewing the IMDB.com list, I see that Nathan has spent too much time acting in TV shows. What can I watch? Well I already own Firefly and have it pretty much memorized. I can still catch reruns of Two Guys and A Girl on late night tv. I will never be desperate enough to watch Desperate Housewives. (I really like Nathan but even I have my limits on tolerance for crap). Well that is all for now. I'm off to see if I can find the TV Show Miss Match on DVD. Yep, I know I'm pathetic. I'm willing to sit through Alicia Silverstone's terrible acting if it gives me a chance at seeing Nathan Fillion.
