The Stars Go Blue for Colon Cancer 2nd Annual Benefit Concert

It is almost time for for the 2nd Annual 2010 Stars Go Blue For Colon Cancer Benefit Concert. Charley Kelley, a four time Grammy nominee was diagnosed with colon cancer in fall of 2008, at the age of 40. Three weeks later his wife Nan Kelley who is a host on GAC (Great American Country) successfully completed treatment for a different form of cancer. Charlies' cancer was luckily discovered early enough and he has now made a full recovery. Charlie was inspired to become a advocate for screenings and to help others battling with colon cancer. This inspiration led him to create a benefit to raise money for the cause.

Last year was the inaugural start of "Stars Go Blue For Colon Cancer Benefit". Last year the benefit raised eighteen thousand dollars. The second annual benefit concert, Stars Go Blue For Colon Cancer will be held on March 23,2010 at 7 pm in Nashville, Tennessee at the Loveless Bar.

Some of country music's best songwriters will be there for intimate and rare acoustic performances. Songwriters such as Rodney Crowell, Barry Walsh, Gretchen Peters and many more will be at the Stars Go Blue For Colon Cancer concert to entertain and raise money for a great cause.

Tickets for the event went on sale 2-23-2010 and you can get yours at the Colon Cancer Alliance site, www.ccalliance.org and also at the Loveless Bar box office on the day of the concert. Tickets are $35 and exclusive blue ribbon tables that include, four seat front row tables are available for $500.

Last years 2009 Stars Go Blue For Colon Cancer concert event featured stories and songs by Amy Grant, Ricky Scaggs, Vince Gill among many others. You can now experience what you missed out on by getting the DVD. 50% of the net proceeds form the DVD will be donated directly to the the Blue Note Fund. The DVD is available to be ordered at the Colon Cancer Alliance website.

Colon cancer is the fifth most common form of cancer in the United States and the third leading cause of cancer related deaths in the Western world with 655,000 deaths worldwide. The Stars Go Blue For Colon Cancer benefit concert is very important in helping to raise money for the cause.
