Get a pen and paper ready for New Year's resolutions! Have a heart to heart discussion on what types of resolutions to make, both as individuals and as a couple. Make realistic goals that can be achieved in a year's time. Agree on the goals and write them down. Throughout the year, keep the list of goals easily visible to help keep on track. Each New Year's Eve go over last year's resolutions and see how many resolutions were kept. Discuss what helped make them a success or failure. Make a new list of resolutions for the New Year's. Make some resolutions that are fun, such as tickling your spouse once a day or other resolution that creates laughs through the year.
Re-create your first date or as much of it as possible. Have dinner at the same restaurant, go to the same movie theater, etc. Enjoy a trip down memory lane and make up trivia questions about your first date or the first time you met and see who remembers the most.
Watch the Times Square New Year's Eve Party on TV and count down when the ball drops, ending with a kiss, of course, at midnight. If you enjoy cerebrating with crowds, dress up and go out on the town to watch the ball drop. For those who prefer being home, cozy up together on the couch with some wine or sparking grape juice as you await the final count down of the new year.
Grab the party hats and head out to a New Year's Eve party. Enjoy the lively people and, music, and kick up your heels as you dance your way into the next year.
Enjoy games? Plan a New Year's Eve board game or video game party. Invite friends and/or relatives who enjoy the games as much as you do. Add some music, drinks and appetizers and let the dice roll. Count down the last minute of the old year. Have the games at the end of the count down, with the winner being whoever is ahead at the start of the new year.
Create a New Year's Eve Photo Album or scrap book. Each year, take a picture or two of your New Year's Eve. Label with the year and any special notes, such as where the picture was taken, names, etc. Add New Year's Eve pictures each year for a book full of special memories.
Video tape New Year's Eve events each year and set aside for the next year. Watch the previous year's video on New Year's Eve or New Year's day. Be sure to have a back up copy and copy onto DVD for safe keeping.
Wish upon a star. Head out into the fresh night air and do some star gazing together. Pick out a star and at midnight make a wish for the new year, either out loud or to yourselves. Each New Year's Eve, pick out a new star and make a new wish!
