The Status Quo
A beautiful vision,
like the stars in the sky
I find impossible to reach
yet I am tempted to try
It seems beyond my grasp
but always invades my dreams
And even out of my slumber,
it continually beckons me
It's far too futuristic
for me to understand
I live in denial of the fact
that I hold the key in my hand
My "better judgment" wins out
I return to the status quo
Painfully flawed in what it lacks
and still it is all that I know
